This was my first class with John but I can definitely say it will not be my last. This class is set up flawlessly going from crawl walk and to run. The way John teaches is in a way no matter how you learn you will leave with all the tools to be a better shooter and be able to go back to your notes and self diagnose any problems you may have. I really appreciate how he went into the why not just the how things are done. We spent ample amount of time behind the gun. John is a very approachable as a instructor and a person. I truly believe no matter where you are in your shooting experience you will get a lot out of this course. John thank you for your information and Patience (definitely becoming more aware of my shooting positions) with me during the class i can't wait to take another class from you.
This was my second course from John- first one was Scoped Rifle Essentials- and once again I'm extremely impressed by the knowledge and skills he was able to pass on in just a few days. We had plenty of trigger time on all 3 days, and even got to shoot some timed drills that felt like something you'd do in a mid-range match. I wasn't used to LPVOs going into this course, and John got all of us shooting effectively both at close range and out to 600 yards, in all kinds of positions. I HIGHLY recommend this course to anyone looking to improve their rifle skills
This course was awesome from beginning to end! Great instruction, and not only conveying the subject, But showing the reason behind it in a way that you could walk away knowing how to find the solutions yourself. John was able to even get it through a thick skull like mine. Very approachable in his teaching and personable. He identified deficiencies of mine as well as enforced the corrections in a way that even when I was mad at my own screw ups I never felt like I wasn't having a great time. Tons of good information and plenty of time behind the gun. I couldn't have asked for more. I would highly recommend this to anyone regardless of where you "think" you are as a shooter. His buddy was pretty dope as well! although im beginning to wonder if he even owns overalls. Jokes aside I had a blast and am honored to have met such a cool dude! I'll see you again soon, John. - Fabio
“There’s something special about sport shooting with LPVOs. In that moment right before the shot breaks, everything seems to fade away. Life slows for an instant, sounds seems to go mute, and in that final breath, everything stops. To be successful, it’s the culmination of many different skills that determines your success, a mastery of all is required to win and the task is as unforgiving as it is addictive. In times of failure we find our best lessons taught. I’ve learned to seek these moments because only in those moments can you truly grow.” - Unknown Sniper
John, thank you for an eye opening LPVO employment course. As a new rifle shooter I came with a mind set to validate very little, learn as much as possible and fail as much as possible to build a better mindset. To my delight your knowledge base from weapon manipulation to ballistics was delivered in a foundation way that was repeatable in class to which I hope to take home and hone. I’ll continue to work on the fundamentals and attempt to control our known factors/fundamentals and send shots down range, and when the unknown factors alters my impact location, I’ll refer back to the pages and pages of notes from this class to attempt to solve my next problem. FYI, the 278 yard shot to the back of the bus, classic, I’ll remember that.
